If you would you like to learn the skill and knowledge required for a career in the Fire or Ambulance Service, Police, Prison Service, or Armed Forces, then our range of Public Services courses could be for you.

Our courses offer a comprehensive introduction to the different public services and how they work, both individually and together, and you will gain an understanding of the levels of health and fitness required to enter the industry.

Multiple Career Opportunities

Clear progression routes are available into operational and management level positions in the sector including work within the Fire Service, Royal Air Force, Navy Coastguard, Prison Service, Army, Customs and Excise and the Police. Opportunities to progress on to a Higher Education Degree course are also available either at Myerscough or further afield.

Beautiful outdoors areas

Students will have use of our beautiful grounds with woodlands and parklands (for orienteering and other activities), stretches of the River Brock (for kayaking, raft building and water based activities) and our on-site £1.8million sports centre and modern gymnasium.

Visits and Guest Lectures

Students will have the opportunity for visits to some of our local public services centres such as army barracks, fire stations and police stations. Guest speakers will also visit the College to chat to students first-hand about life in the uniformed services.
