Myerscough College offers a wide range of vocational courses in a choice of land-based and sports subjects - from entry level practical programmes up to three A-Level equivalent Diplomas, ideal for progression to university. We provide 'outstanding' care and support, excellent success rates, superb progression opportunities and strong links with employers. Plus - all our courses focus on academic knowledge supported by practical skills, making you more employable.
If you feel that you don’t want to attend College full-time but would prefer to get a job, earn a decent wage and gain qualifications whilst at work, then Myerscough College has a wide range of Apprenticeship options available to you. As a national provider of work based training within the land based sector we offer a choice of Apprenticeships which embrace a wide range of occupational roles and sectors.
Traineeships are an ideal opportunity for young people who are motivated to get a job but who lack the skills, confidence or experience that employers look for or that would support young people in moving onto a full time further education or apprenticeship course. If you have been unsuccessful applying for Apprenticeships due to lack of skills and experience then you might be a good candidate for a traineeship.
Our 14-16 vocational courses provide a practical alternative to GCSEs for students in Year 9 choosing their options or students currently in Year 10 who are looking for alternative education when progressing in to Year 11. The courses run alongside GCSE options taken at school. Students starting Year 10 study a one year course and then ‘top up’ the course in Year 11 at one of Myerscough’s Learning Centres in the North West, starting Year 11 students can complete a one year course in all of the subject areas on offer which you can see in the 14-16 Education prospectus
