What about footwear?
You are strongly advised to wear good walking shoes when you come to the Open Day. Although most of the activities are on hard surfaces, there is a lot to see and walk round. Our Countryside Zone and live music tent are on grassed areas which should be firm enough even in inclement conditions.
And buggies & pushchairs?
The event will be busy but you should have no problems manoeuvring a pram around, including on the grassed areas.
Is there a cash machine on site?
Yes – it’s located next to Main Reception in the heart of the campus. From the car park, follow the signs through from the Countryside Zone towards main campus attractions.
How busy are the roads?
There is plenty of free parking available on site. It's a popular event and the surrounding roads get busy, so please be patient.
Can we bring our own food & drink in?
There is a huge selection of food and drink available on site from different vendors so there will be plenty of choice on the day, ranging from sandwiches and pizza to hog roast and paella! We also have well stocked bars on site. You're welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer but we ask that you don’t bring your own alcohol on to site.
What time should I come?
The event runs from 10am-4pm but we advise getting here as soon as possible to ensure you see it all. Car parks will be open before. We have a huge campus so why not arrive early and fully enjoy the day!
Is there a brochure showing what’s on?
Yes – this is currently being designed and we will upload it here as soon as it’s available.
Do I have to pay for parking?
No – parking is included in your ticket price.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
Yes! We have on the day ticket prices and you can purchase them on arrival. We do recommend getting your tickets in advance to ensure speedy entry in to the event and also save up to 20% on the on the day prices.
Is it still possible to sell or exhibit at the Open Day?
We have a few slots left but space has filled up very fast. Please get in touch via ODCF@myerscough.ac.uk
What about sustainability at the event?
At Myerscough one of our key strategic objectives is to “Promote and embed a green / sustainability agenda across all activities.“ As such it is important to us that our events reflect sustainability. For further information on the sustainable infrastructure of the site visit the Living Lab section of our website. Our sustainability guidelines for events are as follows:
Waste and recycling: Please act to minimise the amount of single use plastic brought on site and where waste has been generated, please aim to recycle this waste at the recycling points provided. Please contact us prior to the event if you feel there will be significant waste generated from your activity. As a food and drink vendor you may also consider encouraging use of reusable drinks containers.
Care for the Environment: The college campus is a diverse haven for plants and wildlife, and we ask that you respect this in your activities on site. Please also ensure that activities are sensitive to the wider local community, and you leave areas exactly as they were prior to the event.
Organisational policy: If you are from a large organisation please familiarise yourselves with your company’s sustainability policy and ensure you comply with both our sustainable events terms and conditions and your wider company’s policy.
Promotion of sustainability: where possible if you feel that your product or service can promote sustainability, Myerscough will actively support this. Please inform our marketing team prior to the event and we will use this information to promote your product and your sustainability credentials. Please also use the event to promote sustainability on the day.
