The published National Achievement Rates Tables (NART), reveal the latest figures based on exams and qualifications completed in the last academic year (2017/18). They’re compiled by the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

These latest government achievement tables show that Myerscough again scores highly for learning achievement in further education, with the College ranked number one in the Liverpool City Region, maintaining the top position also achieved in the 2016/17 academic year.

Across all of its centres, Myerscough College is in the top three specialist land-based colleges in the country for ‘all level’ achievement amongst both 16-18 year olds, and also in the top three in the country for ‘all level’ achievement amongst learners of all ages.  In addition, Myerscough is in the top 15% of specialist and GFE (general further education) colleges in the country for ‘all level’ achievement amongst 16-18 year olds.

A happy and safe learning environment is further demonstrated by a very high student retention rate, the number of learners who do not complete their studies. Myerscough is in the top 3% in the country among hundreds of specialist colleges, general F.E colleges, and sixth forms.

The College’s overall pass rate in F.E across all age groups, at all centres (Preston, Witton Park, Croxteth and Old Trafford), totalling almost 4,500 students, is 91.4%.

There have also been some strong results in other Myerscough centres. The College’s Witton Park campus boasts a 88.1% overall achievement rate for institutions in the Blackburn with Darwen local authority area, while at Myerscough’s centre at Emirates Old Trafford, where students on the College’s Cricket Studies programme achieved an impressive 100% overall achievement rate, making the centre number one within the Trafford area.

The strong figures show that Myerscough College is committed to getting its learners the best possible outcomes and making sure that they fulfil their potential. Myerscough College students are given an individualised study programme, helping them to develop both personally and academically.

Helen Eaton, Myerscough's Assistant Principal (Liverpool), said: ‘’We are absolutely delighted to be reporting such high achievement rates for our Liverpool learners. This demonstrates our commitment and success in making a positive difference to the young people in Liverpool City Region.

‘’There has been considerable investment in the facilities at our Croxteth Park Campus and these results show what a difference these make to the student experience. I am proud of our students and staff team.’’

The Lancashire Colleges is an organisation that has been working on behalf of the further education (FE) and sixth form colleges of Lancashire for over 20 years, of which Myerscough is a member. Robin Newton-Syms, its Executive Director, said: “This is fantastic news and testament to the high quality of teaching and specialist facilities in our colleges. The colleges of Lancashire provide the highest quality of education and training. They are critical to the delivery of a highly skilled workforce that meets current and future economic and skills needs.”
