Introduction to Motorcycle Maintenance

About the course

Brief Description of the Course:

The College offers an opportunity to study Basic Motorcycle maintenance aimed primarily at motorcycle

owners or those interested in developing their skillset. A variety of techniques and procedures will be

delivered to obtain the knowledge and skills required for routine maintenance of a motorcycle.

You will be using a fully functional up to date Motorcycle workshop with 4 Hydraulic Motorcycle Hydraulic

Ramps and a Fully equipped workshop with all necessary tools required provided.

Learners may have the opportunity to complete some work on their own Motorcycles if it falls within the

remit of the course.

The course will be taken by a Myerscough College Motorcycle Lecturer and a current Thunder sport

Champion who is regularly competing in National Road racing competition’s

Entry Requirements:

Learners must be over 18

(learners between 16-18 must be accompanied by a paying adult)

Course Outline

Session 1: Basic Routine Maintenance

Session 2: Engine Maintenance

Session 3: Installation and removal of aftermarket products

Session 4: Basic performance enhancement

Session 5: Basic accident repairs and Course assessment

Special Requirements:

You must supply your own mechanic overalls (Flameproof if Possible), safety (Steel Toe Capped) boots must be worn. Please bring a pen and notebook.
