We’re inviting employers and businesses within the land-based sector to take part in our ‘My Sector Showcase’ event, on Thursday February 13th.

Careers Expo 2024 Amelia

Myerscough’s annual Careers Showcase and Arbor Day takes place next month.

The aim of the event is to inspire our students to consider new opportunities and to develop their career management and employability skills.

This land-based industries event provides you with the perfect opportunity to showcase your company and sector, supporting you to secure the next talent pipeline of future employees. You will have the opportunity to meet with our students who are studying specialised land-based qualifications, providing information on the skills, knowledge and behaviours that you require.

There are a couple of different ways for you to get involved. As part of the event, we will be hosting a Sector Showcase Marketplace, where you are invited to attend with a stand and have informal conversations with students about opportunities in your business.

We will also be offering the opportunity for you to host a ‘Masterclass Session’ to students, which could comprise of either a workshop/talk or a practical demonstration.

Please contact our Careers Team on careers@myerscough.ac.uk to find our more information.

Meanwhile, the sixth Arbor Day is an event to celebrate all things trees and arboriculture.

The day, held at Myerscough’s main Preston campus, will include speeches and guest lectures to students by a range of arboriculture professionals, as well as a dedicated tree planting ceremony involving VIPs, invited guests and college staff, and opportunities to network with various industry colleagues who will be joining us as part of our careers day.

Arbor Day celebrations begin next week with the launch of a tree planting initiative at Myerscough’s Lodge Farm, with further details to be announced in due course.
