Admissions - How to Apply -PGC

Applying

The application window for our courses is open now. We don’t have a specific application deadline, but courses can become full, so early application is advisable. An early application will also ensure that candidates can make the most of Applicant Days/Taster Days & online activities relating to their course.

Candidates should apply online via the individual course factsheet on our website here: FE- School Leaver Courses. Simply select the subject area of interest to bring up all the levels of courses we offer.

Before Applying

Do not apply for more than one “level” of a subject. We would advise that the candidate applies for the level of course their predicted/actual GCSE grades suggest they meet the entry requirements for. When we get evidence of results, we will change the level accordingly.

All entry requirements can be found on the individual course factsheets (see link above). Please note we can accept Functional Skills maths &/or English Level 1 as an equivalent to GCSE maths &/or English at grade 1 -3 & Functional Skills maths &/or English Level 2 as an equivalent to GCSE maths &/or English at grade 4 or above.

To start the application process

Step 1: Visit the factsheet of the chosen course on our website: Factsheets

Step 2: Under the Key Information section, select the correct campus (if there is an option) then click on the green box that says ‘Interested in taking this course? Apply for this course online’ .

Step 3: You will then need to register, if you haven't already done so, or login. (When registering please do not use the candidate’s school email account to register as access to this will sometimes be lost before the course starts. The personal email address is our primary way of communicating with applicant, so use a personal email address that will be checked regularly. Once registered/logged in, you will then see the chosen course in your 'basket'.

Step 4: Click 'Proceed' & ensure you fully complete all fields & sections of the application form using the candidate’s details. Applications can be delayed as a result of missing or incomplete information.

Step 5: After clicking 'Finalise application', ensure all the information you have entered is correct on the summary screen. Please double check this for accuracy/typos (especially in email addresses & telephone numbers etc.). Offers will go out via email so if there is an error a candidate might not receive an offer. Candidates using a parent or guardians’ device to apply, also need to double check that the device hasn’t auto filled with the wrong information.

Step 6: Once you have checked that all details are correct, check the 'I agree' box above the summary of information.

Then scroll down & click 'Submit application'.
