Admissions FAQs
How do I pay for buses on my first day?
In most cases bus travel will be free for the first week. If you are asked to pay, you should ask for a receipt for your journey (we will only refund your first incoming journey). If you have successfully applied for a bus pass, it will be available for collection on your first day, your course tutor will have a schedule for collection. Transport | Myerscough College
How do I get my Student Badge and Lanyard
If you have successfully uploaded a photo to your portal, you lanyard will be available for collection on your first day. Your course tutor will have a schedule for collection. Students must wear their lanyard at all times when on campus.
What do I need to bring with me on my first day? What do I wear on my first day? Do I need to bring equipment – riding gear, sports kits etc?
If you are in a practical session on your first day, you should bring any protective clothing and equipment with you that you have available, however, your first week is an induction week, so don't worry if you don't have everything you need, we can arrange this for you during the week. If you are unsure, just wear sensible outdoor clothing and footwear. You can access the equipment list and visit the College shop using this link: Clothing and Equipment
What time do I finish the first day/week?
You will finish as per the last session on your timetable, there will be enrichment activities taking place if your sessions finish before any scheduled bus or collection schedules!
Where do I go on my first day?
Turn up to the centre as stated on your start dates page, College staff will be posted across the centres to direct you to your rooms.
What if I haven’t had my timetable yet?
Timetables won't be available until you have enrolled, this can often be towards the end of August. Depending on how many students enrol at the College, timetables can change so they can often change if published too early. You find out how to access your start date on the Start Dates Page: Start Dates.
If you need to arrange transport/child care etc before your course starts, we can put you in touch with the Curriculum Teams. We will do our best to confirm times but, due to the reasons above, we cannot always guarantee timetables will stay the same. Please email fe@myerscough.ac.uk should you have any specific concerns in relation to your timetable.
Support on my first day?
Our support Teams will be posted across all our centres and Myerscough Staff will be visible and all wearing a red lanyard. You can ask any member of staff if you have any concerns and they will happily take you to one of the support areas.
Do I need to have a work placement in place before I start? What if I have been unable to find one?
You should try to secure your own work placement, if you are unable to find one, we can help once you start, although you should keep a log or diary of everywhere you have tried.
Do I get a locker for my equipment
Lockers are available on campus, your Tutor will discuss how these are to be used during induction week.
