Two day UKRS accredited Agricultural Bookkeeping & Management Accounts course delivered by Christine Thompson Agricultural Business Training (ABT).

Helps participants to efficiently manage farm recording systems to organise, record and prepare financial information for year-end financial accounts.

Industry Regulations and Accounting Terminology

Financial Recording Systems, VAT, and the Chart of Accounts

Idiosyncrasies of Farm Bookkeeping

Bank Reconciliation and Year End Checks

Components of Profit & Loss Account (including valuations, depreciation etc)

Components of the Balance Sheet

Business & Enterprise Gross Margins.

A Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphone/tablet/laptop) on which to receive an email link to some open book short assessments.

From initial assessment of skills, the course aims to develop professional competence through practice to organise record and prepare financial information for year-end financial accounts.

What other training programmes and progression opportunities are there?

Potential progression to further courses or support groups to optimise financial efficiency e.g.

Benchmarking groups and Young Farmers Leadership Course.

The opportunity to then undertake a second course to further develop skills based around business planning and the production of cash flow budgets and monitoring.
