Introduction to land-based machinery operations
Monitor and maintain health and safety in a land-based engineering Work Area
Land-based engineering operations - applying mechanical principles
Land-based engineering operations - understand how to use, service and maintain tools and equipment
Land-based engineering operations - material preparation, shaping and assembling
Land-based engineering operations - carry out servicing and maintenance on land-based equipment
Service and repair tyres and tracks on land-based equipment
Land-based engineering operations - service and repair cooling and lubrication systems
Entry requirements & additional information
Entry requirements
Students are normally aged 16 or over and the following qualifications are needed:
- 2 GCSEs at Grade D (3) or equivalent, one must be English Language.
Learning and assessment
Assessments will include both written assignments and practical work. There are no formal examinations on the Level 2 Diploma.
Progression
Level 2 students can progress to level 3 programmes subject to published entry requirements and satisfactory performance at level 2.

Special requirements
Specialist Clothing and Equipment: Clean overalls and suitable protective footwear can be purchased with College logo either prior to starting or during the first 3 weeks at College. Approx £85
Minimum Age : Prospective students should be at least 16 years old. Open days are held throughout the year where prospective students can visit the College to view the resources and to ensure that the course is suitable for them.
