Golf Professional Role
About Myerscough
At Myerscough College and University Centre we have a nationally and internationally recognised Further Education, Higher Education, Adult Education and Apprenticeship provision. The Further Education provision is well established, the Higher Education provision has a well-recognised partnership with UCLan and the apprenticeship provision is operational nationally. We are one of the top five largest land-based and sports colleges in the UK.
Situated in a prime location in Bilsborrow, off the A6, just north of Preston, Myerscough Golf Complex is considered to be one of the most progressive and successful golf venues in the Northwest for people wanting to learn golf. Our golf coaching programmes are supported by the England Golf ‘Get into Golf’ initiative and the Junior Golf Foundation. With the latest technology and expert PGA Professional staff, the Complex boasts the best facilities in the Northwest for learning golf.
Our golf provision is extensive and you can find out more about our educational offer here - Golf | Myerscough College
Our current membership levels are strong and quite consistent year on year.
What we are looking for
We already have PGA staff working on site daily; however, this team are focused on our students and education programmes. We are looking for a self-employed Golf Professional to create an offer for Myerscough that will provide services for our existing members; attract new members or visitors; and act as an additional expert resource for our golf students to access.
We are open to considering all options that are put to us. For example, only being based at Myerscough for certain days of the week, specialising in certain groups or lesson types, or operating flexibly on an on-demand basis.
It is important to note though that the golf facilities are primarily a teaching resource and as an educational establishment our students must take priority. Lessons could take place at daytimes during the week but due to timetables this may be limited. Therefore, late afternoons, evenings and weekends are likely to be your peak times.
The Golf Professional will work closely with the Curriculum Area Manager for Sport, and the Sports Centre team, in order to establish the most effective ways of operating.
