Myerscough rugby students and staff have undertaken a sponsored walk to honour a student who passed away earlier this year.
The group walked 23 miles to raise money to purchase a memorial bench in memory of Zak Elderton, a much loved member of our student community, who passed away earlier this month, following a road traffic collision.
@myerrugbyacademy How Frodo and Sam did it, we’ll never know 😅 Sadly, we lost Zak in March but the lads have wanted to do everything they can to honour his memory: - They wanted a bench by the rugby pitch ✅ - Shirts with his name that will be displayed at the college and for his family to honour his memory too ✅✅ - They wanted to walk from Vale of Lune RUFC to Myerscough to raise money for the bench ✅ - Raised DOUBLE the money needed! 👏🏻😮 Everyone is very sore, but a great day and team bonding experience for everyone and for our friend Zak ❤️ Shoutout to our kit supplier @O'Neills Sportswear for creating the customer shorts for Zak, an amazing gesture and greatly appreciated 🙏🏻 proud to be associated with this great company 🤝🏻 #4zak13 #valeoflunerugby #myerscoughcollege #thereandbackagain #concerninghobbits #whataboutsecondbreakfast #rugbyunion #myerscoughrugby #ynwa🔴🔴🔴 #gonebutneverforgotten #oneillssportswear ♬ Concerning Hobbits (From "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring") - Movie Sounds Unlimited
