It’s National Careers Week, a celebration and a focus for careers guidance activity, to help support young people leaving education.

At Myerscough, our award-winning careers team support students via a dedicated Careers Zone at our main Bilsborrow centre, with direct access to quality resources and an advisor that supports learners to plan a personal career pathway.

Students also have access to support on the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) platforms, which offers content specifically designed to help students make informed decisions about individual career aspirations.

Our advisors are trained to provide quality careers education, information, advice and guidance to all our students.

Myerscough College and University Centre was highly praised for the quality of its information, advice and guidance.

The matrix Standard is a unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals. Continued accreditation under the matrix Standard provides national recognition of the quality of the service delivered and is measured every couple of years.

Myerscough is a recent winner of The Careers & Enterprise Award at the prestigious Educate Awards, recognising the fact that the College is outstanding at preparing young people the best they can for their future careers, pathways and opportunities available to them, whilst also developing a spirit for enterprise amongst pupils or students and encouraging entrepreneurship.

The Gatsby Benchmarks provide a framework for career guidance, outlining the experiences and information each and every young person should have access to so that they can make an informed decision about their future.
