A University Centre Myerscough equine tutor has been recognised in a national award ceremony.

Jane Wetherall Clearer

Degree lecturer Jane Weatherell was named a finalist in the category of Instructor of the Year in the 2022 Equestrian Business Awards, for her work with her company, Dubs Equestrian.

Jane made a shortlist of just three finalists, out of 2,099 nominations across 696 instructors.

Jane said: ‘’I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and just letting it all sink in. Out of over 2000 instructor nominations I was in the top 3! I was sat at a table with my family by my side, and it was just an amazing experience, especially when I was in a room with (such) inspirational people I follow on social media.

‘’Thank you so much to everyone that voted for me and all the kind messages of support and well wishes on the day.

‘’It’s back to work now as I continue to make everybody I work with reach their goals.’’

A spokesperson for the awards said: ‘’After the huge success of our inaugural year in 2021, the 2022 awards has lived up to expectations and more. We received 16,734 nominations across thousands of businesses, up from 5,491 nominations the previous year.

‘’It has been a pleasure to look through each and every one throughout our nomination phase and select our deserving finalists, representing the very best professionals and businesses from across the equestrian community.

The awards evening was a glamorous affair and a night to remember. We congratulate (everybody) on their success, and we look forward to following their future journey.’’
