From the middle of November, decisions are usually made within 2 weeks of submitting an application, unless an interview is required or more information has been requested.
Types of offer
Conditional
This will be subject to your GCSE* results or providing evidence of previously achieved qualifications. There may be other conditions such as fitness to study or gaining work experience which will be listed in your offer letter or email.
When results day comes, if you don’t achieve what you have been predicted, don’t panic!
- You should upload your results as instructed as we may still be able to put you on the course you originally applied for (with extra study). If this isn’t possible then we may offer you a course within the same learning area but on a lower level.
- In some cases, we may provide you with details of alternative providers or a specialist plan of how to enrol with us in the future.
- No matter the course that you are offered, if you are aged under 19 and have not achieved a minimum of grade 4 (C) in your English and Maths GCSEs or approved equivalents, you will be required to take these subjects again alongside your vocational course.
Unconditional
You have met the academic requirements for a place on the course subject to any needs funding assessments that may have not taken place.
Decision Time!
If you have more than one offer, please remember to only select the one that is your first choice. If you change your mind at a later date, please contact the Admissions Team directly and we will look into this for you.

If you have been unsuccessful in your application, you will receive a notification from us to advise you of this. The notification will provide contact details for a key point of contact to get in touch with for feedback. If you feel that the decision is unfair or you have further information that we haven’t considered, then you may wish to appeal. Information about how we make decisions can be found in the Student Admissions Policy.

Important Finance and Course Information
The following text will be included in every offer email, whether it be conditional or unconditional.
To ensure that the course is right for you, the first 42 days are treated as a trial period, in which we will monitor your progress and ask you to complete assessments in literacy, numeracy as well as your chosen subject.
You may be asked to attend an Applicant Day or face-to-face discussion, before you start your course.
The specific level of course offer can be changed at various points during the year subject to any of the following factors: College or Curriculum Area recommendations, behaviour during engagement with Myerscough Staff, support needs, fitness to study recommendations or new information being provided at different stages of the application process in relation to anything that may have an impact in accordance with our Student Admissions Policy. The course offer is also subject to change if applicants do not meet the entry criteria set out in their offer notification. On rare occasions, courses may be removed from offer due to; low recruitment, the consideration of the student experience, structures/awarding body changes or Government funding changes. If this happens, you will be notified directly.
Applicants that apply after the course start date will be considered but there will be no guarantee of a place. Applicants who have accepted a place but not attended the first week of term will be withdrawn or added to a waiting list if the course becomes full.
If you present with SEND, we will contact you as soon as possible before starting the course to arrange an assessment and if we are not able to meet your SEND needs, we will clearly explain this to you.
If you will be aged 19 or above on 31 August, then tuition fees will be payable unless you meet certain criteria. If you are taking any “additional qualifications” during your course, these will not be included in your course fee or remission and must be paid for separately. The final decision of enrolling onto the additional qualification(s) is made at the point of enrolment onto the course.
Please contact the Finance Department directly if you have any further queries regarding tuition fees and funding by telephone: 01995 642138 or email: salesledger@myerscough.ac.uk. Please note that it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure payment arrangements have been made before the start of their course.
Students who do not have an area of permanent residence in England may also be subject to fees unless you meet certain criteria. If you fail to provide or withhold settled or residential status information with your application, the College reserves the right to retract your offer of a place.
Full details of how we make these decisions can be found in our Student Admissions Policy and Procedure Myerscough College | Policies.
*RQF Level 2 and international equivalents will also be considered.
