Moving On Programme
About the course
The Moving on Programme is designed to support young people age 15-18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) who need to develop the skills, confidence and qualifications to allow them to move on to a Traineeship, Apprenticeship, Further Education or a job.
The course runs 2 days per week between September and February or February and June. Students will be taught in small classes in a supportive environment with dedicated staff. They will complete a day or employability skills and a day of English and maths.
Students will learn the skills to support their success in their future educational and work lives. As well as covering topics such as CV writing, job finding and interview techniques they will also cover transferable skills such as team work, communication and planning.
English and maths
At the start of the programme we will work with learners and their families to decide on the best type of English and maths programme for each student. This might be working towards a functional skills qualification or it might be working on portfolio based units that develop key skills and knowledge.
