About the course

Myerscough College specialises in education and training for creative, land based and sporting industries, and the photography team is part of the outstanding Greenspace and Creative Design team.

The college has invested heavily into teaching and learning resources and as part of this qualification, you will have access to specialist computer software, darkroom, studio and specialist photography and creative classrooms.

Brief Description of the Course:

This qualification is practical in its nature, exploring both photography and creative projects, capture and digital manipulation. Photography elements will include how to use a camera effectively, and how to exhibit your work using different media techniques.

Entry Requirements:

This course covers practical skills and relevant background knowledge.

There is no formal entry requirement to complete this qualification. However, a strong interest in photography and creative design is advised.

List of Units:

1. Use a camera to capture creative images 2. Digital Image manipulation Essential Skills: While completing this qualification learners may develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills employers look for in employees. These range from familiar ‘key skills’ such as team working, independent learning and problem solving, to more tricky-to-measure skills such as: · an appreciation for appropriate behaviour · appropriate interpersonal skills · communicating with professional colleagues/peers.

Learning and Assessment:

The learning will be supported using three hour taught sessions per week. Learners will be assessed through the creation of a portfolio, demonstrating the skills gained through the qualification.
