This course considers factors that influence planting positions, raising awareness of the impact of soil type, orientation, plant size, hardiness of materials and seasonality.

Investigating different planning considerations:

  • Checking soil types (texture and pH)

  • Orientation and topography

  • Seasonality

  • Shape and size of material

  • Seasonal interest

How long will I be learning?

Although this course only lasts for one day, this is only the start and you’ll carry on learning as you put your new skills into practice.

What equipment will I need?

All equipment is provided, but you will need to wear sensible footwear and outdoor clothing.

How will I know if I am making progress?

Demonstration of new skills and an understanding of why, when and where to plant.
