Introduction:

This course includes a range of propagation methods to provide participants with the skills to produce plants both from seed and vegetative. Using various species, practical activities will include seed sowing, taking cuttings, layering etc.

A keen interest in horticulture.

What will the course involve?

Demonstration and practice of propagation techniques:

  • Hardwood Cuttings

  • Softwood Cuttings

  • Semi-ripe Cuttings

  • Leaf Cuttings

  • Layering

  • Seed sowing (in containers and broadcast)

How long will I be learning?

Although this course only lasts for one day, this is only the start and you’ll carry on learning as you put your new skills into practice.

What equipment will I need?

All equipment is provided, but you will need to wear sensible footwear and outdoor clothing.

How will I know if I am making progress?

Demonstration of new skills.

What course work will I be expected to complete?

Practical skills during the course.

What can I expect to learn from this course?

A range of propagation skills.
